A place where educating the greater surfing community about greener and more sustainable surfboard production methods is our main goal.
E-Tech – “Earth Technologies” is home to our in house surfboard company E-Tech surfboards, and E-Tech Glassing our surfboard manufacturing company.
The facility was built out using as much reclaimed lumber and recycled materials as possible.
Dual shaping rooms include vacuum units to keep shaping dust at a minimum, reclaimed sliding glass doors, bamboo fencing and poles for decoration.
More recycling containers the trash cans.
All of our eps shaping waste is recycled and sent to Marko Foam for Envirofoam production (the worlds only 100% recycled foam blank).
State of the art surfboard design center featuring touch screen PCs connected to our customized double board cutter cnc machine.
In our store front we carry the products we as surfers truly believe in: a full range of eco products ranging from OAM cork tail pads, Overture bamboo wax combs, the finest limestone based neoprene wetsuits of Isurus, the recycled billboard material board bags by The Progress Project, hand shaped sustainably built skateboard decks of Maki Skateboards.

The Founders/Owners
As a Disabled Veteran suffering from toxic chemical poisoning Todd started his own line of Synergy Surfboards with one goal in mind: Develop and create the most Environmentally Responsible high performance surfboards on the market… PERIOD! No fluff…no bull…NO COMPROMISES! Todd and Ryan first crossed paths nearly 5 years ago when they worked on several of Todd’s first board creations together. Where Ryan came from a traditional poly background , Todd immediately started off on the eco path quickly establishing himself as one of the leaders in sustainable surfboard production. Todd teamed back up with Ryan in October 2010 to start work on the ultimate vision: E-Tech. Sacrifices were made as both Todd and Ryan dropped their respective labels to create their own in house line of green surfboards- E-Tech. When he’s not at home with the wife and kid, Todd can be found surfing Venice, or in the warehouse constantly working on new files or developing the greenest method possible to make boards.
Born and raised in Oregon where surfing was a true trek. Ryan moved to So Cal in early 2001 and quickly fell in love with surfing and the sacred craft of shaping where his artistic background came in handy. What started off as a few shapes here and there for his bros developed into a local following in the South Bay where he shaped out of several garages in Redondo Beach and Hermosa. Full time production work came later after some tutelage from reputable South Bay shapers Scott Anderson, Bob Smith,DJ Dreiling and Dennis Jarvis. Ryan spent the next 5 years working as a full time shaper in a traditional poly glass shop and production assistant. Here he met Rey Banatao of Entropy Bio Resins. “he really opened my eyes up to greener methods of making surfboards”. And the rest was history. All the while developing his own brand of Podunk Surfboards Ryan set off on his own unique path. Quickly learning the ins and outs of epoxy lamination and Vacuum bagging directly from Rey. Within a year Ryan was one of the leaders in green glassing, having glassed numerous boards with bio epoxy from shortboards to paddleboards and everything in between. What started off as a goal to make lighter and stronger boards ended up being highly sustainable and eco-minded in the process. Although the Podunk name has been dropped he can still be found at his local break-El Porto on a daily basis charging at first light before going straight to the E-Tech shop to mow some foam and make the surfing world greener one board at a time.
The Crew
At E-Tech Glassing we have a dedicated crew. Lead by Todd and Ryan we have a full production crew with over 60 years of combined surfboard production experience. Our team consists of 3 production laminators, vacuum bag specialists, our own in house production hand plane builder, one of the industries best hot coaters, installation expert, Pinliner/artist, and a finish sander widely considered to be the best in the entire industry. Outside of Production an important part of our team is our store and office manager Maria who mans the phones, fields questions, and keeps us surfers in line!
